עמותת "תנו לחיות לחיות" פנתה לגורמים הרשמיים מטעם משרד הדתות הנרווגי האחראים על הכנסייה , כמו כן פנתה העמותה לבית המלוכה הנורווגי בשאלה כיצד ייתכן כי איש דת לוקח את החוק לידיו ומרעיל חתולים. המקרה נמצא גם בחקירת משטרת ישראל.

Subject: A pastor from the Immanuel church in Jaffa viciously poisoned cats, effectively murdering them.
“Let The Animal Live” organization was established in 1986 and is a non-profit organization. Our mission is to give immediate aid to homeless animals, give care and find them permanent homes. We also drive for the education of the public to foster love and care for animals. The organization brought the importance of caring for the welfare of animals and the importance of eliminating animal abuse into public awareness through enforcing the new animal cruelty law. This achievement of ours reduced animal cruelty significantly. “Let the Animals Live” is working on educating the public. The bandwidth of our activities includes: assisting other large organizations regarding the care of animals and how to limit their natural growth in humane ways without killing them. On top of that, the organization lectures in schools and other educational facilities to teach future generations to love animals and re-enforce their right to live.
Last week we received a complaint that Otto, a pastor from the Immanuel Church, and his wife were destroying the cats which live around the church with poison. This had been going on for quite a while now. How could it be that a religious man, a pastor and one who is expected to honor life, decides one day that cats lives are worthless and commit this crime of poisoning which brought about their death???
How could it be that that the pastor, Otto, and his wife, Ana, who should stand behind an image of humanity and values, takes matters into their own hands and chooses to murder cats cruelly by poisoning them?
It is impossible to comprehend that the pastor, who serves the community and is supposed to be a living example of compassion and love, will keep his position in the church after admitting to this heinous crime and excusing himself with whatever reason he may have. The pastor claims that his wife Ana got Scabies and that is the reason he killed the cats. The man took matters into his own hands and executed the cats with poison, which is a slow and agonizing death. Otto did not try any other more humane measures and did not try to consult with any of the animal organizations who would have undoubtedly helped him out in other ways without resorting to killing them. We are aware of the fact that one of the cats that were murdered belonged to the church organist.
We call upon you, the bishop of the Lutheran church, and ask that you take any measures needed to stop Otto and have him pay for his crimes. The animals cannot talk and we are here on their behalf.
All religions call for the sacred value of life, and killing is the worst possible sin.
I, Eti Altman, spokeswoman of “Let The Animals Live”, am calling upon you and ask you to deal with the matter with the severity it calls for. The pastor has decided to commit this horrible crime and it has to be placed on the agenda to make this an example for others so it will not happen again.
