Victory for Mazor Farm Monkeys

Victory for Mazor Farm Monkeys

The Israeli District Court’s precedent has been declared void by the Israeli Supreme Court and prohibited the shipment of wild monkeys. “Let the Animals Live” organization has petitioned an appeal against Petah-Tikva District Court, Mazor Farm, and Israel Nature and Parks Authority. The Supreme Court ruled that Mazor Farm is not permitted to ship wild monkeys or monkeys that were born in captivity for experiments in SNBL, USA

The Supreme Court’s involvement and decision is very significant and meaningful, since Mazor Farm is requested to provide the monkeys suitable, comfortable living conditions for the monkeys in its facility, for the rest of their lives, and is forbidden to have these monkeys traded

“Let the Animals Live” speaker, Mrs. Eti Altman, is very pleased with the Israeli Supreme Court’s decision, and explains that LAL will continue to represent and fight for the monkeys’ rights, and make sure that the court’s decision is enforced, thus Mazor Farm will not ship the monkeys, and the monkeys will be able to live in comfortable conditions, suitable for their needs for the rest of their lives

Mr. Amir Rozenberg, Jonathan Shpiegel and Guy Nosan are the dedicated lawyers who legally represented the animals in the court and LAL is very grateful for their services

Eti Altman further explains the following: “We view this meaningful verdict as an additional, very important step towards our goal, to have Mazor Farm entirely closed, and strictly out of the animal trade business using the helpless monkeys in its facilities for profits. The monkeys’ trade is against the Israeli animal welfare law, (1994) and against the Israeli policy regarding wild monkeys’ rights. Monkeys that were captured in nature have the right not to be traded and shipped to laboratories, such as SNBL, for horrific experiments. We, at LAL, will continue our struggle to protect the monkeys, and we would like to thank all our supporters, and we are asking you to keep on “supporting us, until Mazor Farm will be entirely closed
